When a Berlin musician is reunited with his estranged, dying mother, an unexpected journey unfolds that reframes loss, care, and what it means to let go.

Synopsis

Still Here / Immerdar follows a Berlin-based musician who is forced to reconnect with his estranged mother after learning that she is nearing the end of her life. Once she is released into his care, the two begin a quiet and intimate period together, shaped by unresolved history, tenderness, and shared presence. As they spend time away from clinical spaces and closer to nature, their relationship slowly shifts. What begins in discomfort and emotional distance opens into moments of understanding and calm, allowing both mother and son to experience this final chapter in an unexpected way. Gentle and reflective, Still Here / Immerdar offers a compassionate look at death and dying, not as something to fear or rush past, but as a deeply human experience that can hold sorrow, beauty, and connection at the same time.
