Synopsis
No Strings follows Milly, a climate organiser hurriedly preparing for a live television interview that has arrived with little warning and no time to reflect. As the pressure mounts and the countdown begins, her private space becomes a site of growing unease. Alongside her is Sam, her sort of boyfriend, whose encouragement and enthusiasm feel increasingly at odds with Milly’s discomfort. As conversations unfold, Milly begins to sense that her sudden visibility may not be accidental. What initially appears to be support slowly reveals itself as something more calculated, exposing how identity, history, and personal trauma can be leveraged for public messaging. Confined, tense, and sharply observed, No Strings explores power, manipulation, and the moral cost of speaking for a cause when the reasons for being chosen are not entirely your own.
