Synopsis
Mantle Peace centres on two brothers brought together by the death of their mother, only to find themselves divided over what should be done with her ashes. What begins as a practical disagreement quickly exposes a relationship built on avoidance, sarcasm, and years of unresolved tension. With their mother no longer acting as mediator, the brothers are left to navigate grief and responsibility on their own terms. As old habits resurface, conversations slip into put downs, slaggings, and petty competition, revealing how little has changed since childhood. Yet beneath the bickering lies an unspoken need to be understood, and a shared loss neither knows how to address directly. Darkly comic and quietly tender, Mantle Peace explores masculinity, communication, and the strange ways grief can force honesty, even when it arrives wrapped in humour and hostility.
