Synopsis
Disparate Youth follows Jordan, a young man rooted in a quiet island town as the people closest to him begin to drift away. While his friends look towards futures beyond the place they once shared, Jordan clings tightly to familiarity, resisting the changes that threaten to leave him behind. The return of old friends under difficult circumstances brings unresolved emotions to the surface, forcing Jordan to confront the growing distance between who he was and who he is becoming. Set against the stillness and isolation of island life, the film explores grief, nostalgia, and the fear of letting go. As tensions rise and personal struggles collide, Jordan’s longing to preserve the past begins to shape his decisions, blurring the line between memory and reality. Through an intimate and unsettling lens, Disparate Youth examines the cost of holding on too tightly, and asks what must be sacrificed in order to move forward.
