Synopsis
Lisa is a single mother doing her best to protect her seven year old son, Bobby, after escaping an abusive relationship. With nowhere else to go, they are staying in cramped and unstable conditions, already living under pressure and uncertainty. When Bobby returns from school with unexplained bruising, concern quickly escalates. A well meaning social worker steps in, and Bobby is removed from Lisa’s care while an investigation takes place. Suddenly separated from her son, Lisa is pushed to breaking point. To bring him home, she must face the childhood trauma she has spent years trying to bury. Bruised is a raw and emotional story about motherhood, fear, and the lasting impact of abuse, showing how the past can resurface when everything you love is at risk.
